Min Skoa 71

Project Overview: Creative based project that will use previous assets as the raw materials for the final digital preparation that may require print output and/or online presentation.
Foot wear company requires a stylized design campaign for a re-launch of its flagship footwear.
Each student will use his/her own assets from the previous semester and will research, create and develop the look and style of the required campaign.

Step 1: Discovery and Ideation: For the first step we had to create a mind map to develop some ideas for the final. [2 hours]

Step 2: Shoe Hero Photo: The second step requires us to post the before and after pictures, after removing the background from the original picture. The tools to remove the background were the dodge and burn tool, brush tool (after masking), and using levels to increase the contrast. [1 hour]

Step 3: Shoe Logo Cover-up: In the third step, we had to remove the logo from the existing shoe, if it was there. [4.5 hours]

Step 4: Story of Min Skoa 71: Since my shoes were running shoes, my story has to be along those lines. I was thinking something along the lines of a race or someone on a racetrack. Min Skoa is all about being unique, thus the story should be too. My initial idea was an underdog who dreams of winning in the Olympics or something along that idea. [20 minutes]

Step 5: Sketch Book: This step requires us to draw sketches and thumbnails for the final poster. Here are my initial sketches and ideas. [2 hours]

I also thought of a few taglines that go with certain sketches that I might want to use:
"Ahead of the competition"
"Style. Reinvented"
"There is only one"
"Enough said"
"Free yourself"
"Do the impossible/unthinkable"

FINAL POSTER v1: So after playing around with many ideas, I realized that none of my original sketches were feasible. The reason for this was that was there was no creative way to incorporate the splash effects (that are available) with the racetrack idea. Instead, I decided to play on the vibrancy of Min Skoa. I used Photoshop to add a few splashes, played around with the colors, blending options and other tools to create a fountain of colors. Here is the first version of my final poster. [4 hours]

FINAL MIN SKOA AD
Here is my final Min Skoa ad. I added a few more effects and images to make the ad more vibrant and alive. [5.5 hours]
